Strikes in Paris: what traffic sensors reveal

In this article published in Les Echos, Olivier Leroy, responsible for the PMP datalab, and Kexin Ren, datascientist within the lab, analyze the impact of strikes on Parisian traffic by using open source data from the Paris city hall.

Surprising conclusions: 15% of the streets were less congested than normal, on the other hand the Parisian city center was experiencing the worst disturbances with average travel times multiplied by 10 throughout the day.

The strike will have had the virtuous effect of forcing the transition to soft mobility.
