PMP is very happy to share the study on the economic impact of illicit online consumption of audiovisual and sports content carried out with Hadopi, in partnership with Médiamétrie.

In these times of crisis, especially for the French audiovisual landscape, this study highlights the economic consequences of this illicit consumption:

  • piracy affects more than 11 million Internet users each month;
  • it generates a shortfall of around €1 billion for all players in the audiovisual and sports sectors;
  • a loss of revenue of €332 million on public finances.

 This study should make it possible to strengthen the mechanisms for combating piracy, in particular in the context of the audiovisual reform project.

PMP, a strategy consulting firm, supports leading players in the audiovisual industry, sport and culture, in the development of their business and the adaptation of their model to new uses, while ensuring the fair remuneration of beneficiaries law.
