PMP Strategy advises the French State on the acquisition of 80% of Alcatel submarine Networks from Nokia

PMP Strategy served as the buy-side commercial advisor to the French government in the signing of the put option relating to the acquisition of a majority stake in ALCATEL SUBMARINE NETWORKS MARINE (ASN) from Nokia as recently announced.

The acquisition of this strategic company would further enhance France’s digital infrastructure independency. Alcatel Submarine Networks, a French company, is among the top three global leaders in the manufacturing and installation of submarine cables. Previously a subsidiary of Alcatel and later Alcatel-Lucent, ASN was acquired by the Finnish group Nokia in 2016. ASN’s unique and proprietary technology enables it to deploy long-haul submarine optical communication systems worldwide.

The final completion of the transaction is subject to the information and consultation procedures of the representative bodies of ASN and Nokia employees, as well as closing conditions such as the obtaining of the regulatory approvals.
